I had hoped to send out a mid-year newsletter, but unfortunately I had too many things on the go in June and July, so this is a post mid-year newsletter instead.
Although training classes have been going well, I have been hearing more and more complaints about problems with dogs that are being walked in parks. I recently wrote an article that is being published in the Animal Behaviour Consultants of SA newsletter, and I am going to put it in this newsletter, as I feel so strongly about this.
A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL. I wish you a wonderful 2014.
One minute it was December and the holidays, and now it is all over and the start of a new year. It is time to start all the classes, and I am looking forward to seeing all the previous handlers and dogs returning, as well as the new ones starting this year.
In October last year, KC Dog School started Sunday classes at the Torah Academy in Orchards. There is now an option of Saturday classes at Forest Farm, or Sunday classes at the Torah Academy.
April - May 2013
A month ago I was in Birmingham attending the Crufts dog show - the largest dog show in the world. Thank goodness it is held indoors, because the weather was terrible. In the few days after the show, I had to drive through a heavy snowstorm - something I have never done before. Our group also amused the locals when we went to Coventry and walked around taking pictures of the snow coming down, and on the ground, to send home to our families in SA.
But it was cold, and I was very happy to come home again for some warmth. However, it did not last long as the temperatures started dropping and Autumn started with a bang. I think we are in for a long hard winter, something I am not looking forward to.
January - February 2013
KC Dog School classes for 2013 started on Saturday 12th January and Tuesday 15th January.
The new beginner courses have been well attended, and it was so nice to see the “old” handlers and dogs returning for the intermediate and advanced classes.
We have been extremely lucky with the weather, as on two occasions it have been raining all around Forest Farm, but on the training field after a few drizzles, it is dry.
Please, if it is raining, keep in contact as we go to the training field and will give the class if it is not pouring with rain.
